Repairing Eroding Shorelines

Massey Marina, located just south of Dubuque, IA on the Mississippi River was experiencing bank erosion and degradation due to unprotected shorelines.   Endeavor Civil Engineering was hired by Dubuque County Conservation to develop a bank stabilization plan for the site.  This project required coordination and permitting with several entities due to the project being located on ground owned by the Army Corps of Engineers, and managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, and Dubuque County Conservation.  The solution that was implemented for this project was to shape the banks to a 2:1 slope and place rip rap on the slope to prevent erosion.  Endeavor Civil Engineering is proud to have helped the County with this stabilization project.
